Prosecutor Clouse is a part of the fifth generation of Clouses to live and work
in Noble County. Previously his great-grandfather (Tom C. Clouse) served as a
Noble County Commissioner and his grandfather (Frank E. Clouse) was an Albion
Town Councilman. Steven is a native of Albion and a graduate of Central Noble
High School. After high school Clouse attended Indiana University in
Bloomington where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991. In
1994 Clouse earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of
Law, and on October 31, 1994 he was admitted to the Indiana Bar. He is also
admitted to practice in the United States District Court for Northern Indiana.
Before becoming the Noble County Prosecutor, Clouse practiced in the law office
of Heckner & Kirsch and served as a Deputy Prosecutor in LaGrange County,
Indiana. Clouse was first elected in
1998, and has been successfully reelected in 2002 and 2006. In
keeping with the pledge he made in 1998 to serve the people on a full time
basis, Clouse has served the county as a full time Prosecutor since taking
office on January 1, 1999. Prosecutor Clouse lives in eastern Noble County with his wife
and two sons. He is a member of Rotary International, the Indiana State Bar
Association, the National District Attorneys Association, and the South Milford
Church of Christ. In 2005 Prosecutor Clouse received a Governor's
appointment to serve on Governor Daniels' Commission for a Drug Free Indiana.
